My name is Neil Farmer. I was born in Northampton and as far as we have found out, my Farmer "Tree" goes back to 1754 in St James, Northampton.
I went to Spencer Infants for a short while before moving ino the then new Gladstone Infant School, moving up to the Junior School, scraping through the 11+ and onto the Northampton Grammar School for Boys.
I eventually left and started work at Northampton Borough Council, Borough Engineers, moving to the County Council Highways and Transportation in 1973.
In 1987 I left the confines of local government and moved into Computer Software with Axis Software, then based in Kingsley Park Terrace, the company then became Assist Applications Ltd after a management buyout and ended up as AAL Systems Ltd.
The company specialised
in GIS (Geographical Information Systems), dealing with local authorities
and the M.O.D.
